CPRB Case Review Agenda May 22, 2012

Minutes of the CPRB Meeting Held on May 22, 2012 (Mtg. No. 145)

Called to order at 6:05 pm by Mr. Ralph Norman, Vice Chair. Newly appointed members were introduced and welcomed: Dr. Emma Lucas Darby, Mr. Thomas Kolano and Mr. Thomas Waters. Reviewed Proclamation from City Council commemorating the 15th anniversary of the referendum creating the CPRB. Pittinger reported on the Commonwealth Court decision affecting access to police reports and the PA Supreme Court’s declination to review the decision. Independent website development was discussed. Status of the incident involving Jordan Miles was discussed. Ms. Whitfield moved that case #10-21 be removed from suspension, Mr. Waters seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

May 15th, 2012 City Council proclamation recognizing 15 years of the CPRB

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Citizen Police Review Board for 15 years of responsible and professional service and thanks the members, staff, Executive Director, and solicitor for their commitment to a safe, just, and equitable City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare May 15, 2012 to be “Citizen Police Review Board Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
