The Board had a discussion on personnel policies related to appointee positions within the Police Department; In 2006, total intake was 450 complaints, with a self-declared racial identity of the complainant pool is 43.8% Black, 40.9% White, 0.6% Other (Asian or Latino), and 14.7% of Unknown Race; The Intake position was vacated as of September 30, 2006 and will be posted January 29, 2006; The vacant Investigator position was filled by Ms. Kathleen M. Carson who started on 12/11/06. Ms. Carson was introduced to the Board; Mr. Bingler, Mr. Carrington, Ms. Pittinger, and Ms. Sears attended the 9th Annual Black & White Reunion’s Summit against Racism on January 20, 2007; The resolution authorizing the 2007 contract with Thieman & Ward was introduced in Council on 1/16/07; Update on McNeilly v. City of Pittsburgh; Three cases are scheduled for public hearing.
